Now that 2017 is officially going to be in our rear view mirror, it's time to put all of our focus in 2018. I'm usually one of those people who rolls their eyes ((HARD)) at people who use the term "New Year, New Me", but now I think every day, every moment is a chance to turn oneself into their newest and best version. You don't have to wait until January 1st and if you do make January 1st your redo day and you "mess up" on January 3rd, than you have another moment to try to make it right.<br />
2018 is a very important year for me and a year that I am really focused on making a great one. I want to get my crap eating under control, get my migraines at bay, get rid of my rosacea, tame my anxiety, improve my relationship with money and get in amazing shape for my wedding.<br />
In order to help me with all of these lofty goals for the next year, there are 4 "habits" I plan on dropping, and 4 "habits" I plan on picking up. Think of these as my New Year's Resolutions.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">4 to drop</span></u></b></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* My reliance on packaged snacks*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was raised on junk food and continue to be a huge junk food eater. It's not good! I have never met a Twinkie, a Reeses or a Keebler Elf product I didn't like. Even to this day when I get hungry at school I'm knocking on the snack closet looking for Twinkies. Even when I choose what I deem a healthy snack, it's packaged. Now granted, a Larabar is WAY healthier than a Twinkie, but there's no reason I can't pack a baggie of berries with some cream to dip it in or some veggies and hummus. I always lean towards convenience and ease, even though I have the time to do more and treat myself better. This year I will not be relying on packaged snacks and instead only use it as a treat.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqcIqEubd69qEBN0hYope_SbJkdumN_VAGHLgeJw16Ps7n0lb5zEP4U9tWbBXV4NpH-_IMt1T5bYBBUxSmzp9h_9O0WwgPmLc9jSbkksMeSOdusfANKPxR0Erj42gUgf9G_ifI6heU_wg/s1600/IMG_6902.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqcIqEubd69qEBN0hYope_SbJkdumN_VAGHLgeJw16Ps7n0lb5zEP4U9tWbBXV4NpH-_IMt1T5bYBBUxSmzp9h_9O0WwgPmLc9jSbkksMeSOdusfANKPxR0Erj42gUgf9G_ifI6heU_wg/s320/IMG_6902.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* Starting something and not seeing it through*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I can't tell you how many exercise programs I've began or how many times I've started a posting schedule for my Younique business page and I do good for about a week and then totally slack off. Since consistency is my word of 2018, there's no more of this! If I don't think I can fully see something through, I'm not going to dive into it. And if I do begin something, I will do everything in my power to complete it to the best of my ability. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* My Diet Coke habit once and for all!*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a hard one, a super tough one! I love Diet Coke. It is a total vice of mine. I've definitely cut back in recent years. I only have it at home if someone purchases it for me (which is rarely) and I usually only have it at work for lunch. Being at one can a day for 4-5 days out of the week is a HUGE decrease. Since I have been on Christmas vacation I have only had it once while I was out to lunch with a friend. People have told me to have seltzer water as a replacement, but I don't like seltzer, it just has to be a willpower thing to finally kick this bad habit. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW-Cj-Q_vI0szNNvN3eZRtcXTcA8LtoqnZ1TUsI9oy4G7Cu4IO21T5Zff2a4XeMse-oVurz7A5lRB58vRPvrxV7q2QjqHS3pSkjhId8Xp4hbwLM1S6NWNcdnCsIkW7HFzBI5WbS0d2fGw/s1600/IMG_6901.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW-Cj-Q_vI0szNNvN3eZRtcXTcA8LtoqnZ1TUsI9oy4G7Cu4IO21T5Zff2a4XeMse-oVurz7A5lRB58vRPvrxV7q2QjqHS3pSkjhId8Xp4hbwLM1S6NWNcdnCsIkW7HFzBI5WbS0d2fGw/s320/IMG_6901.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* Getting anxious over what I think people mean*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I never really thought of myself as an anxious person until the last 10 years or so. Unfortunately, my anxiety has only gotten worse. Usually it is only limited to typical high stress situations, air travel or large crowds, but sometimes I give myself anxiety by overanalyzing and overthinking situations about what people say to me. No more of that. If someone is going to say something, they will say it to me and I can deal with it then. If not, I will not work myself into thinking something terrible. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">4 to pick up</span></u></b></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>*Green smoothies with healthy add ins*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think green smoothies are a great way for me to get in a serving or two of fruits and vegetables. Considering I am not a huge fruit and veggie eater, but am a big snacker I think this will help kill 2 birds, with 1 stone. Also, thanks to my girl The Skinny Confidential, I now have a list of healthy add-ins to try in my smoothies including collagen, pearl powder, matcha, etc.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* Fresh and clean snacking*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3_Jv01aRB99EYG-Cc9DKDYa8mgli7VyZPFjEP6YXBHLTVL6MR34cH3lmxZ0dVG8NtS7W1gwMOt2mc5SVaStkeWd42mEV7qjhPdmZNznS5DMbgYWrymAPTkuJKJsdPy2bDsuHVci7qJjE/s1600/imgres.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="193" data-original-width="262" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3_Jv01aRB99EYG-Cc9DKDYa8mgli7VyZPFjEP6YXBHLTVL6MR34cH3lmxZ0dVG8NtS7W1gwMOt2mc5SVaStkeWd42mEV7qjhPdmZNznS5DMbgYWrymAPTkuJKJsdPy2bDsuHVci7qJjE/s1600/imgres.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Image from dreamstime.com</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As mentioned above, my reliance on packaged snacks is going to be SO 2017. 2018 will be all about clean, unprocessed snacks. It might mean a Larabar or 2 every now and then, but I am going to try to keep my snacking very Whole 30-like. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* Time blocking post work hours*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There have been so many evenings where Nick and I are like , "where did the time go?", on a work night. I find myself being so mentally exhausted after work that I give myself permission to just crash on the couch and surf Youtube for hours. I want to use my time when I get home a lot more efficiently. This will include making a lot more dinners ahead of time, blocking out time for blogging, school work and things I enjoy. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>* Reading more for pleasure*</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig7K496s2sKKvxcns2xXnVQM7y24ql7BTKDW62Hj-kW2YZ2rlsEPmOiReDRRa6hGBO76PhdBrC5Z9CZ2BJ2QKIHtg4RgIduKBa9uQ0HBL5iLKDRkWZBwcGnTVQyQshEhfMsTbdGyyJ1SI/s1600/Screen+Shot+2017-12-30+at+8.54.13+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="588" data-original-width="352" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig7K496s2sKKvxcns2xXnVQM7y24ql7BTKDW62Hj-kW2YZ2rlsEPmOiReDRRa6hGBO76PhdBrC5Z9CZ2BJ2QKIHtg4RgIduKBa9uQ0HBL5iLKDRkWZBwcGnTVQyQshEhfMsTbdGyyJ1SI/s320/Screen+Shot+2017-12-30+at+8.54.13+PM.png" width="191" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Some of the books on my reading list</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love reading. There is nothing better than diving into a good book. However, I find myself wasting so much time after work that I don't give myself the proper reading time I should and truly want to. Just today I cancelled a few magazines that I just let pile up and no longer enjoy reading so I could dedicate more time to checking books off of my very long reading list.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So these are pretty much my 2018 resolutions. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do you have any resolutions this year??</div>

The ending of 2017 calls for my 17 favorites of the year! I was going to incorporate moments and items, but if I did moments I think it would turn into way too personal of a blog post since I had a lot of amazing moments this year, so I limited it to just products/items. Here are the products or personalities that helped form my year!<br />
<br />
17. <a href="https://www.blogger.com/%3Ca%20target=%22_blank%22%20href=%22https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018UQ5RC6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B018UQ5RC6&linkCode=as2&tag=adulting101-20&linkId=4dd1d6dda4196c8d9ce5a446ec061757%22%3EKeurig%20K475%20Single%20Serve%20Programmable%20K-%20Cup%20Pod%20Coffee%20Maker%20with%2012%20oz%20brew%20size%20and%20temperature%20control,%20Black%3C/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22//ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=adulting101-20&l=am2&o=1&a=B018UQ5RC6%22%20width=%221%22%20height=%221%22%20border=%220%22%20alt=%22%22%20style=%22border:none%20!important;%20margin:0px%20!important;%22%20/%3E">Keurig</a><br />
<br />
I have had a Keurig for quite a few years and I love it. However, my single serve Keurig was starting to act up a bit and when Nick and I moved in together we began to think about purchasing a new one. My dad ended up buying a new one, a Keurig 2.0, as a housewarming gift, and it's been the best! It has it's own filter so the water is always crisp and clean and it heats up SO fast! There are cup size options to fit a variety of different sized mugs so if you need a little caffeine or a lot, there's a setting to meet it. It has definitely become one of the most used items in my apartment!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">My trusty Keurig 2.0 and reusable K-cups</span></div>
<br />
<br />
16. <a href="https://www.blogger.com/%3Ca%20target=%22_blank%22%20href=%22https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LHCCR92/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00LHCCR92&linkCode=as2&tag=adulting101-20&linkId=f6b338147582efe75b76a99c60ee4586%22%3E4%20Permanent%20Coffee%20Filters%20for%20Keurig%20B30,%20B31,%20B40,%20B41,%20B60,%20B70,%20K40,%20K45,%20K65,%20K75.%20Replaces%20Keurig%20My%20K-cup(tm),%20Solofill(tm),%20Ekobrew(tm)%20and%20all%20other%20reusable%20coffee%20filters%20for%20Keurig%20Home%20Single%20Cup%20Brewing%20Systems%3C/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22//ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=adulting101-20&l=am2&o=1&a=B00LHCCR92%22%20width=%221%22%20height=%221%22%20border=%220%22%20alt=%22%22%20style=%22border:none%20!important;%20margin:0px%20!important;%22%20/%3E">Reusable K-Cups</a><br />
<br />
Along with my new Keurig, I have been using refillable K-cups for almost 7 months now and I will not switch back to regular K-cups unless it's for work. I get a half pound bag of ground coffee from my favorite coffee shop, store it in an airtight container, and put a few scoops in one of these guys every morning. A half pound bag will easily last me a month if it is just me having it. I was buying (and throwing out) a new box of K-cups every other week when I was using traditional K-cups so I'm very happy I switched to these!<br />
<br />
<br />
15. Epic Mascara<br />
<br />
As you guys know I'm a Younique representative and while I do use it as my side hustle, it is something I have truly grown to enjoy and love. It has helped me to learn a lot about business, organization and inspired me to engage in a lot of personal development. Other than a lot of growth, I love the makeup! There are a few products that I reach for every day and Epic Mascara is one of them! It is now my holy grail eye product and since my customers and friends began using it- they feel the same way! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIJdBMPyOgCAv-qo4MP5zkOON1QoQZyIC3l7HQv0CwC9webpFEwZ8cozN1N2kNjwILT_kymYpV7ScSXoMFcqyv7RaRTy6lEcqkrDR4wOKzv8iv0PcXE8haezpPOjOU32VhaRPrQWiELhw/s1600/22730324_10115324890313854_4096417793378983611_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="816" data-original-width="612" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIJdBMPyOgCAv-qo4MP5zkOON1QoQZyIC3l7HQv0CwC9webpFEwZ8cozN1N2kNjwILT_kymYpV7ScSXoMFcqyv7RaRTy6lEcqkrDR4wOKzv8iv0PcXE8haezpPOjOU32VhaRPrQWiELhw/s320/22730324_10115324890313854_4096417793378983611_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
14. Podcasts<br />
<br />
Podcasts have literally changed my mornings and my mindset! I used to start every morning by watching the morning news and would find myself getting emotional or upset by a lot of the disturbing stories. When my favorite morning newscaster was fired, I didn't want to watch the news anymore and remembered a lot of my Younique groups mentioned podcasts. I did some research and began starting my morning with a Podcast, instead of the morning news. By starting the morning with an uplifting and/or informative Podcast I am starting my day with a more positive mindset and not being bogged down by the negativity of the world.<br />
<br />
13. The Champagne Diet<br />
<br />
The Champagne Diet quickly became one of my favorite Podcasts and and Cara, the mastermind behind it, quickly became one of my favorite people. The Champagne Diet is a podcast and blog that really just wants to help women become their best selves. She is very empowering and I just ordered one of her books that I can't wait to get and dive into! If you are looking to really empower yourself and make 2018 your best year yet, I think she could definitely help to get you in the mindset to do so!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
12. The Skinny Confidential<br />
<br />
Another Podcast and blog that I am equally obsessed with is The Skinny Confidential. I have added so many wellness products to my Amazon wishlist thanks to Lauryn (the author) of The Skinny Confidential. She is always writing about really cool health and beauty trends that I have never heard of and I ordered quite a few products to add to my routine because of her. She writes like I imagine hanging out with her would be and I just love it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjurOm-aevFwShxwraNWenUpWusXWlXzSHxKC8fb9Q1OujUdPWVfCaFSTIr7DSUKRcr1URSbCBnDGxToWHg9mrrjYKsGupkKSnax17e9Uy5IVn6vM5lXYUfdw7BvnoH2lXo72Skei-ckes/s1600/FullSizeRender.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="862" data-original-width="748" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjurOm-aevFwShxwraNWenUpWusXWlXzSHxKC8fb9Q1OujUdPWVfCaFSTIr7DSUKRcr1URSbCBnDGxToWHg9mrrjYKsGupkKSnax17e9Uy5IVn6vM5lXYUfdw7BvnoH2lXo72Skei-ckes/s320/FullSizeRender.jpg" width="277" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
11. Lululemon Leggings<br />
<br />
I am someone who never thought I would be spending $100 on anything clothing related, let alone a pair of leggings. After becoming an avid legging wearer I had a conversation with one of my best friends about finding winter weight leggings and she said she invested in a pair of Lulus and they even have a lifetime guarantee. I braced myself to walk into the bright and overpriced store and told the salesperson what I wanted. She put me in a dressing room with a super flattering black pair of leggings and told me the price included alterations and a lifetime guarantee (for $100 it better). When I picked them up and put them on I completely understood the hype. My butt had never looked better and I wear them at least twice a week. Nick even got me a gift card for our anniversary to buy an olive pair for the fall. If you are on the fence about the price, just do yourself a favor and give them a whirl!<br />
<br />
10. I Love Kickboxing<br />
<br />
If you have a local ilovekickboxing.com do yourself a favor and go check out their introductory package. I totally have a love/hate relationship with them as I love the workouts, but when my intro deal is over I won't be able to afford to maintain my membership since we are saving for the wedding. For now though, I am so obsessed with the workouts. The hour literally flies by and the instructors are so adorable and so helpful. <br />

9. Happy Planner<br />
<br />
I have just become so obsessed with my Happy Planner. It is the key to any sense of organization I may have. My planner is cute and little and just screams me. I've bought a couple of different covers for it from it Etsy- including a Minnie Mouse cover and a Harry Potter cover. If you are in need of a simple and effective (and affordable) planner, check out your local Michaels and grab you a Happy Planner.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
8. Scentsy Cubes<br />
<br />
I have become a fan of these little wax cubes from Scentsy and Scentsy like brands. I have a couple of different "burners" that I use all over my home and I love to use them to make my house and classroom smell yummy. There is literally a scent for everyone!<br />
<br />
7. Hard Boiled Eggs<br />
<br />
This is a random one I know, but it's a favorite! Most mornings Monday-Friday you can find me having 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast. For me, they are just the perfect breakfast. They are quick, easy, keep me full and healthy! To make it even easier, I have been using this hard boiled egg cooker that my mom got me! I was never able to really perfect hard boiled eggs stove top and this little guy makes it so easy.<br />
<br />
<br />
6. Sweet Potatoes<br />
<br />
Another random one, sweet potatoes have become a super easy and cheap food staple for me. My friend at work got me hooked on a lunch of sweet potatoes, chick peas, feta and balsamic. It's healthy and inexpensive. If you are looking for an easy lunch, I definitely recommend trying this recipe or looking into other ways to utilize sweet poatoes.<br />
<br />
5. Sleepy Tea/Well Rested Tea<br />
<br />
Oh My Gaaaa! This stuff is everything! I drink a mug of this every school night. I'm not sure if it really does help me to fall asleep or if it is just such a part of my routine that I can't fall asleep with out it. My favorite is the Well Rested Tea from Trader Joes, but I have also tried the Sleepy Time Tea. <br />

<br />
<br />
4. Mantras<br />
<br />
After I started listening to The Champagne Diet I really got into using mantras. I have what I call a "positive living" notebook that I basically turn into a real life Pinterest Page with mantras, uplifting quotes, tips on turning a bad day around, just ways to live a super positive life. I have been using mantras for a few months now and usually switch them up weekly. I will post one in my planner for the week and try to recite it to myself a couple times daily, especially while getting ready in the morning. It sounds a little hippie dippy, I totally get it. However, if saying one little statement can help to put me in a better mood, why not be a little hippie dippy?<br />

<br />
<br />
3. Facebook Groups<br />
<br />
I have been loving Facebook groups for ideas, inspiration and for making new internet friends. I'm in a variety of groups ranging from healthy eating, to Happy Planners, to Younique, to the Champagne Diet group! If you have a hobby or an interest, I guarantee you there is one (or 100) Facebook groups dedicated to it!<br />
<br />
2. My new Apartment<br />
<br />
I loved my old apartment, it reminded me of growing up in the Bronx. My old apartment was for my single Melissa chapter, my new apartment is the beginning of the new book of my life. This place is just gorgeous and it's so fun to make a home with someone else. The apartment is gorgeous, but the building is even better! There's a gym, an indoor pool, a lounge with a fireplace and INDOOR PARKING. As I'm writing this and it's only 14 degrees out, the indoor parking is a huge plus. A full photo tour coming soon!<br />
<br />
1. My Engagement Ring<br />
<br />
Is there any doubt that this number one? Getting engaged was my number one moment of life so far! My ring is so perfect and every time I look at it I see a ring that symbolizes my future life with Nick and finding my perfect balance in someone else. I never wanted a typical engagement ring and always wanted a sapphire ring. I can't believe Nick got the ring so perfect as it's literally me in engagement ring form. Unique, classic and just a little bit too much.<br />

It's a word that as a network marketer and constant health seeker I hear and read about constantly. As frequently as I read about it and as frequently as I tell myself I am going to stick with something, most of the time it falls to the way side. <br />
Take this blog for example. I was so excited to be back in the world of blogging and was even getting good feedback from some friends. Then I let the constant excuse of "life", "anxiety", "craziness" and I lost my consistency with posting and lost a lot of my readership (which I was so excited about!) as well. <br />
Everyone has their own shit going on and their own level of craziness in their lives. It's how someone chooses to spend their non-crazy moments that really shows who they are. <br />
For the new year I am choosing to have my word of the year be "consistency". 2018 is a big year for me! I'll be starting my 5th year of teaching, I'll be fully balancing work/life/relationship OH and I'll be getting married! So consistency will be of the utmost important for me to keep my life, my anxiety and my health in control. <br />

I regularly use the site Cardpool.com to purchase gift cards at a discount to stores that I regularly shop at anyway. The savings isn't usually more than $5-$12 stores, but overtime that can really add up! They come in the form of a digital gift card so they aren't the best to gift, but for BUYING gifts they are perfect!!!<br />

She is a productivity and organizational expert and she really helped me get into the organizational planner realm. <br />
The video I watched last week was, 10 Productive Things To Do Before 2018. You can watch it <a href="https://www.blogger.com/%3Ciframe%20width=%22560%22%20height=%22315%22%20src=%22https://www.youtube.com/embed/-JjHxx5_Dac%22%20frameborder=%220%22%20gesture=%22media%22%20allow=%22encrypted-media%22%20allowfullscreen%3E%3C/iframe%3E">here</a>! It really got me thinking to some things I would like to do prior to the New Year. <br />
<br />
Here are my top 5 tasks I plan on tackling or implementing <span style="text-align: center;">before 2018!</span><br />
<br />
1. Organize my clothes and sell what I'm not wearing on Poshmark<br />
<br />
I have so much clothes and I really only wear about 30% of my wardrobe. I got rid of a lot of my clothes prior to my move, I still want to get rid of a lot of the trendier pieces I bought on a whim or because they were on sale. I have had great luck selling a few things on Poshmark and will continue to use it to sell my unwanted goods.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPeWm9V8iNbvXtVrlIfebW-1YhIIvX_XD58116N0oEjncS6LZTaz971LBEqmHnl_KfShSH-5GXhXVVrm570hnbdBPVP7lwsuMWB4waUllo7CRwR0Zp9rEnL7pr4hVgnWnKa1IlFnAxlNg/s1600/IMG_6695.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1334" data-original-width="750" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPeWm9V8iNbvXtVrlIfebW-1YhIIvX_XD58116N0oEjncS6LZTaz971LBEqmHnl_KfShSH-5GXhXVVrm570hnbdBPVP7lwsuMWB4waUllo7CRwR0Zp9rEnL7pr4hVgnWnKa1IlFnAxlNg/s320/IMG_6695.PNG" width="179" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
2. Begin and get into the habit of gratitude of journaling<br />
<br />
I have done so much reading about manifestation lately and a lot of begins with being grateful for what one has at the moment. Gratitude journaling is writing down things you are grateful for and reflecting on them. I think it's a great practice to start to lead a more positive life by showing we are thankful for what we already have.<br />
<br />
3. Incorporate daily smoothies into my diet<br />
<br />
There are days where I know that I don't even come close to meeting my fruit and vegetable intake goals. A smoothie is a great way to do so! I'm thinking of trying strawberries, mango, spinach and water to keep it lower calorie.<br />
<br />
4. Meal plan<br />
<br />
Over the summer I bought a fitness planner and I never used it! Over Thanksgiving break I purchased a wellness plan from one of my favorite Instagram fitness girls and it definitely inspired me to break out my fitness planner. For the next week I planned out 3 days worth of breakfasts, lunches and dinners and mid-week will plan out the rest of the week. It's super motivating to see it written down and planned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWHYSYoij7VckV3YutxRNepb_cChwk0niezU7Y3ze3_wNO5EkwEXHE1X9TFv29aUKs4tTZb9gKlOY8EupZEniFz8n6rDeXfMsR71UWgaiRF5jde0GVPOBFuXZ0FVgHWCqfuY0XRzedXL8/s1600/IMG_6696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWHYSYoij7VckV3YutxRNepb_cChwk0niezU7Y3ze3_wNO5EkwEXHE1X9TFv29aUKs4tTZb9gKlOY8EupZEniFz8n6rDeXfMsR71UWgaiRF5jde0GVPOBFuXZ0FVgHWCqfuY0XRzedXL8/s320/IMG_6696.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
5. Start my must read book list and finish 2 books a month<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi1EfZJueW0I4io6TsyN5YpnNDsKopnLnfs9r6WU2fVuWVpwt6ErHlhUyG7GHqB_kWDZeqLnv5fY4vMvF3PremY8mXQHJCjlk9RPpJPJVh5gMsjAaRslJSb7ud9CJ1vQp0O0Y3CL5bJgU/s1600/FullSizeRender.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1029" data-original-width="381" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi1EfZJueW0I4io6TsyN5YpnNDsKopnLnfs9r6WU2fVuWVpwt6ErHlhUyG7GHqB_kWDZeqLnv5fY4vMvF3PremY8mXQHJCjlk9RPpJPJVh5gMsjAaRslJSb7ud9CJ1vQp0O0Y3CL5bJgU/s320/FullSizeRender.jpg" width="118" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Lately I have been reading a lot of network marketing books and found myself craving just a good story. Prior to reading those network marketing books I hadn't finished a book in months. Reading is something I genuinely enjoy and I need to carve out time for it. I want to make a must read list and alternate between non-fiction and fiction books.<br />
<br />
Those are a few of the important habits that I am going to begin implementing now so I won't have to worry about them being fad resolutions come 2018. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
What are some tasks that you would like to accomplish or make habit before the Ne Year?</div>
<br />Fabulously Thriftyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11447883386589868335noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230224094369618220.post-54004537508005376622017-11-30T17:51:00.000-08:002017-11-30T17:51:09.247-08:00Playing House Series: Pre-Move in Talks You've decided to <a href="http://adulting101forthegrown.blogspot.com/2017/10/playing-house-series-making-decision.html">move in together</a>! You picked the <a href="http://adulting101forthegrown.blogspot.com/2017/11/playing-house-series-your-place-his.html">perfect spot</a>! So you should just start packing right? Wrong!!<br />
There's a lot of conversations to have before you move in together. It's important to work these things out prior to the move as it will definitely help to prevent a lot of stress and possibly even a lot of fights later on. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7yIVk7MHswzXXWorAMMALSqN3VQl7N9ZFXgfygpkpne9nfsKex-62kV8Z1ST-UxyV9TygfWaU3cvxKpP120M5P_ohxcWoHt0Qy0zbkqHyuCn2slY_lkz83CT6ssedut3bfCdv6d98vmk/s1600/638267_stock-photo-moving-into-new-home.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="462" data-original-width="600" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7yIVk7MHswzXXWorAMMALSqN3VQl7N9ZFXgfygpkpne9nfsKex-62kV8Z1ST-UxyV9TygfWaU3cvxKpP120M5P_ohxcWoHt0Qy0zbkqHyuCn2slY_lkz83CT6ssedut3bfCdv6d98vmk/s320/638267_stock-photo-moving-into-new-home.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here are some of the pre-move in convos I recommend having:<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Paying the bills- How is it going to work? Is it going to be an even split? Are you going to pay the rent, while he covers the rest of the utilities? These are important decisions to make prior to the first bills rolling in. Also, be honest about what you can afford!</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>What you're bringing, what he's bringing- Imagine moving in together and you both brought a couch or you move in and see he packed that leather chair that you just hate. Prior to moving in it's important to discuss what you're bringing and also what you plan on getting rid of. Prior to moving in with my fiancee I had to get rid of SO much stuff that I couldn't believe I accumulated over the years. It may be difficult, but also probably necessary.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>The new items you plan on buying- There might be a few new large items that you guys need to purchase. This is your chance to start crafting your living style as a couple. Do some shopping around and don't break the budget</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>Chores- This may sound like a ridiculous conversation for 2 adults to have, but a necessary one I think. One person cannot and should not clean an entire house or apartment all of the time. I'm not saying make a chore chart like from back in the day, but have a discussion.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>Routines- I'm sure you've had a lot of sleepovers, but sleepovers and living together are 2 totally different ideas. If you're someone who falls asleep early or needs to make their own morning coffee or have 10 minutes to themselves after getting home let your significant other know ahead of time.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>"House rules"- Boys night in on a Thursday when you have work the next day? Having your sister over for Real Housewives every night? Your usual routine of having friends over all of the time or having your parents come over whenever they want is going to have to change. You have someone else to think about now.</li>

I have quite a makeup collection. Not nearly as excessive as a lot of girls I see on Instagram and Youtube, but I do have quite a lot. It's a love and a hobby of mine and actually what inspired me to write my first blog. <br />
If you have an extensive makeup collection or if you have just a few products, it's important to store them properly.<br />
Please, please, please do not store your makeup in the bathroom, especially the bathroom counter. The best temperature to store your makeup and/or skin care is actually at room temperature. Steamy showers and fluctuating temperatures in the bathroom make it a less than ideal place to store your favorite foundation or eyeshadow. The fluctuating temperatures and moisture in the air can shorten the life span of your makeup or even harbor bacteria growth.<br />
The best place to store your makeup and skin care is in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight. <br />

I put quite a huge dent in my holiday shopping this weekend all from the comfort of my own living room! <br />
Normally, I would use my debit card for 95% of my purchases because I hate having any kind of credit card debt and I am still in the process of paying off my wedding dress on my credit card. However, for most of my purchases I ended up using my credit card for one specific reason: <b>Earny.</b><br />
A large majority of retailers and major credit card companies have a policy where if a price drops on an item purchased within 90 days you are entitled to the difference. I don't know about you, but I don't have time to stalk prices every day and quite honestly, I would forget after a few days anyway. That's where Earny comes in!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL4w0mIH3fZqNrW7jziT6EQBls_bRfzayQyvuKNn8pzm0Hw9CVn9dHVNOC7KjLjnpqY1IDCB160vNfpOVnGV0N2Lr9ABDzdsdJRdmRqXB7q-ea0bf3cOmJf0NXkqtqyq547gS8AYEQPmA/s1600/Screen+Shot+2017-11-26+at+2.29.57+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="212" data-original-width="405" height="167" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL4w0mIH3fZqNrW7jziT6EQBls_bRfzayQyvuKNn8pzm0Hw9CVn9dHVNOC7KjLjnpqY1IDCB160vNfpOVnGV0N2Lr9ABDzdsdJRdmRqXB7q-ea0bf3cOmJf0NXkqtqyq547gS8AYEQPmA/s320/Screen+Shot+2017-11-26+at+2.29.57+PM.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Earny connects to both your inbox and credit cards and collects your electronic receipts. "He" monitors the prices of the items you purchased and if he sees a cheaper price he files a claim for the difference on your behalf! <br />
You will be notified if Earny is able to receive a refund for you and it will be debited right back to the card used to make the purchase, although some companies choose to mail out checks. Earny takes 25% of any refund issued to you, which considering I don't usually track items to get any refunds, is not a bad deal.<br />
Currently Earny works with the following retailers:<br />
Amazon, Best Buy, Bloomingdales, Carters, Costco, Gap Group Stores, J.Crew, Jet, Kohls, Macy's, New Egg, Nordstroms, Overstock, Sears, Staples, Target, Walmart and Zappos.<br />
<br />
That's a lot of stores!!<br />
<br />
If getting some cash back in your pocket seems appealing, definitely give Earny a try by <a href="https://earny.app.link/2LJrCBtAoI">clicking here! </a><br />

While I have never had a super busy social schedule I came to a realization a few years ago that has been very important to me. <b>The power of saying no.</b><br />
Saying no could be very liberating and very empowering. It could also be very freeing. Saying no to people or situations that would bring you stress, agitation or that you just don't have time for is ok! In fact, I feel it is the ultimate act of self-care! So release the guilt of agreeing and just say no.<br />
<br />
Don't get me wrong- it's not easy to just start saying no to people you would normally say yes to. At the beginning, the guilt of saying no is sometimes worse than what you were actually saying no to! However, with practice and time you will begin to feel the freedom of saying no and you will be more open to saying yes to experiences and people you actually want to give your time to!Fabulously Thriftyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11447883386589868335noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230224094369618220.post-54451782413452475342017-11-17T15:38:00.003-08:002017-11-17T15:38:56.712-08:00How to Beat Thanksgiving Stress<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
The holidays can be a difficult time for some people, especially for anyone suffering from anxiety or any sort of emotional disorder. I for one usually enjoyed the holidays, but never really felt that they were my own. My parents separated when I was young and I never spent my holidays in one place- I bounced from location to location. It became my norm. So a lot of my holiday anxiety was centered around traveling or the worry that I was going to disappoint someone by not spending enough time at location A or location B or not being at one location at all. <u></u><u></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
This year I have decided to forgo all of that. My fiancée and I just moved into our own place and are going to begin to make our own holiday traditions and start our own family. I am going to allow myself to release the guilt and the burdens of family holiday stress and drama.<u></u><u></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
One of the reasons I was most excited to have a place of my own was to be able to stay in one central location for Thanksgiving and for Christmas, but even the last few years as I lived on my own I still bounced from parent to parent and from relative to relative. This year now that someone else is involved in my life, I made it a point to say this is OUR holiday, if anyone would like to join us they are more than welcome to do so. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
Now, that comes with its own stress of hosting, but it’s a stress that as a former holiday nomad, I welcome with open arms. I am looking forward to making my own holiday traditions with my fiancée, my family and my soon to be family. <u></u><u></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
However, just because I think my holidays are coming together as I have always envisioned them doesn’t mean there won’t be some bumps along the way and some stress and anxiety that I will have to handle. So here are a few tips and tricks that I plan on utilizing in an effort to help keep myself as calm as possible.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
</div>
<ul>
<li> Remember the reason for the holiday- to be thankful for what you have </li>
<li> Don't worry about perfection, it doesn't exist any way!</li>
<li> If you're preparing food, prepare as much ahead of time as possible </li>
<li> It's ok to enlist help- don't try to do it all alone</li>
<li> It's ok to ask people to bring stuff- if you're cooking the main dish it's ok to ask someone to bring a side dish or a dessert</li>
<li> Have a glass of wine, not the whole bottle!</li>
<li> Try to get in some activity, the endorphins will definitely help!</li>
<li> Have something fun and stress free planned for the next day, maybe shopping on Black Friday isn't your best bet! </li>
<li> Make sure you make some time to enjoy the day and the company!</li>
<li> Remember, it's just one a day and there's always next year!</li>

I love buying cute notebooks and have really had to limit myself from going overboard and purchasing too many. One of the few notebooks I have allowed myself to purchase is a bullet journal. I don't use it as a typical bullet journal, but more as a book of handy lists and things for me to keep track of.<br />
One thing I love to keep track of is gift ideas. Any time someone mentions an interest in a product or a gift I jot it down in this notebook. If I don't have the notebook with me, I make a reminder in my phone so I remember to write it down in my list when I get home. That way when I go to shop for gifts, I have a list of ideas at the ready!<br />

I am all about the side hustle. I think it is so important to have multiple sources of income or having different ways of earning money outside of your full time job. I have been participating in the side hustle for years and considering I have a wedding in less than a year I am continuing to look for additional side hustles. <br />
My first and main "side hustle" is my network marketing business. I have been selling Younique Cosmetics and Skincare for over 3 years and I really, really love it. It is something that not only makes me a few extra bucks, but something that I really enjoy as well.<br />
Do I make tons of money from it? No. I use Younique as my fun money. If I want to get a Stitch Fix box one month or get a couple mani/pedis I use my Younique card to pay for it! Currently, I am saving my Younique earnings to pay for my bridal hair and makeup and already used it to get my hair and makeup done for my engagement pictures!<br />

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>What is network marketing?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Network marketing provides a great opportunity for those looking to own and run their own business with little or no up-front investment. After you decide on a company or product, you are most likely going to have to purchase a "starter kit" which provides you with basic materials to help you begin and market your business. From there you have the opportunity to sell the product and/or service to friends, family and others. Most network marketing companies also suggest you to recruit others to join your "ranks" in order for you to really see the best financial benefit from network marketing. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>What kind of companies/products are there in network marketing?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Literally, anything!! From makeup, to food, to wine, to books, to home goods, etc. If you have a passion, there is most likely a network marketing company out there to meet it! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I personally feel it's important to join a company that fits a passion or hobby of yours. If you aren't into makeup, it won't come off natural when you are trying to recommend products to your friends. You want to be genuinely excited and interested in what you are selling and that doesn't mean that you have to love every product your company makes! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Who can become a network marketer?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Really, anyone. Most companies require their presenters to be 18 or older. You also need a social security number for tax purposes. Some companies may have additional requirements to it's important to do your research and ask questions to either a fellow representative or an employee of the company itself. You will also need whatever the initial sign up costs are so remember to keep that in mind.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>The Advantages of Network Marketing</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*You can invest as much or as little time as you want.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*You can invest as much or as little money as you want.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Most businesses you can work from anywhere.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*You are in business for yourself.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*However, most companies provide some sort of new seller training and a lot of companies provide additional support with the people who you joined under called your "upline".</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*You can learn while you earn (which is what I did).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*If you purchase anything for your business, it can possibly be tax deducted (talk to your accountant first!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Provides opportunities to make friends globally</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Provides empowerment, especially to women</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*...and many, many more</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>The Disadvantages of Network Marketing</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Not all companies are legitimate, please do your research!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Some can be quite expensive up-front</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Some may require you to carry stock, which means you will need space</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*It may be difficult to get friend and family support</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*You may feel pressured to buy new products</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*You may feel pressured to market products you don't personally like or use</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*It might take a while to see true financial gains</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*It's not a quick fix or get rich quick scheme</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*Some people can be skeptical of direct sales companies</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>So, is network marketing for me?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Unfortunately, that is not for me to answer. I think it can be a great side hustle if you are someone who can self-motivate and likes to either interact with people on a face to face basis or via social media (depending on the company). I also think it's a great way to empower yourself and learn a lot about business, marketing, branding, social media and graphic design which are all things that I have learned about on my journey as a network marketer. It's also great if you have realistic expectations of what you want to accomplish with the money you earn. Also, realistic expectations of the time it may take to grow your business and that what you put into it, is really what you get out of it.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If you possess these qualities- you are well on your way to becoming a fab network marketer, it's just about finding the right company! A great place to start is by visiting the <a href="http://www.dsa.org/">Direct Sellers Association</a> website.</div>

I used to have a favorite shaving cream- yes a favorite shaving cream. It was from Trader Joe's and I loved it so. One day I went to TJ's and they didn't have my favorite shaving cream! I was completely out of it at home and I refused to purchase a different type! I went home ready to give up on shaving altogether when I remembered I had another shaving product in my shower.....<br />

CONDITIONER!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have now been shaving my legs with conditioner exclusively for over 3 months and I refuse to go back! I always have conditioner in my shower, and considering I don't use very expensive hair care products I have no problem slathering up my hair and my legs with a creamy conditioner. I have never had a closer and smoother shave in my life! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Even if you don't run out of shaving cream, I urge you to give this a try! </div>

His Place? Our Place? Welcome back for the second installment in my "Playing House Series". This series is all about moving in with a significant other. My first post was all about making the big decision to move in with a significant other in the first place! You can find that here.<br />
<br />
I am currently in the process of moving in with my fiancee Nick, so this series is really all about my take and my personal experience with these matters. Actually, the day this post is published is the day of the BIG MOVE!<br />
<br />
Ok, enough with the introduction! Let's get on to to the topic of this post! Ok, you guys made the massive, super adult decision to move in together and now it's time to decide where!! <br />
<br />
This can be a very tricky decision to make if you don't live super close or if one of you is particularly attached to your apartment/house. It's a discussion that has to be made calmly and with an open mind. You can go into the conversation with a desired outcome, but if you are not willing to listen or to compromise, this can be quite difficult. It's very important to go into this discussion with an open mind.<br />
<br />
Now I cannot sit here and give you the pros and cons of your place versus his place because obviously I don't know your situation! This is a list for you to come up and be realistic about it! Sit down and look at your place from both your perspective and your significant other's perspective and try to do the same for his place as well! It's always important to try to look at it from their perspective, which can be difficult!<br />
<br />
When Nick and I had the initial discussion about where we were going to live I made a list about all of the financial reasons why my apartment made the most sense, not even considering there is a lot more to this situation than finances. Sometimes the living arrangement that makes the most financial sense, isn't the correct answer. His place was not an option, because he lives in New York City and parking is NOT fun over there and I need a car to get to work. We ended up with option C: a spanking new place for the both of us!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH6rhwo5ahoAnDE0iLXGh3vV5zPa63GPMBpamGYFH6K84qcfy2dKvgUIM_CryeVuZuKRL0L-kit0fadof6DDnSEmkPD5iNf7BTy_B9uSmAQkTg6pf2TINyNTk8PVxlclEgiGBPk0mFtS4/s1600/IMG_6454.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH6rhwo5ahoAnDE0iLXGh3vV5zPa63GPMBpamGYFH6K84qcfy2dKvgUIM_CryeVuZuKRL0L-kit0fadof6DDnSEmkPD5iNf7BTy_B9uSmAQkTg6pf2TINyNTk8PVxlclEgiGBPk0mFtS4/s320/IMG_6454.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here are some things to consider when deciding where you should live together as a couple:<br />
<br />
*Finances- Is one apartment, or a new apartment more fiscally responsible? That's something to consider<br />
*Distance- A central location for both of your jobs is definitely preferable. <br />
*Size- Be realistic. Minimalism may be trendy right now, but if you aren't a minimalist don't try to squeeze all of your stuff AND their stuff into a studio.<br />
*Comfort- This is a BIG one! Are you truly comfortable at his place? Is he truly comfortable at your place? We aren't talking about spending a weekend here- we are talking about spending YEARS! If one of you isn't truly comfortable or feel as if you can't truly be yourself, it's time to look for an alternative solution.<br />
*Future Goals- will getting a new apartment hinder a common future goal of yours? Definitely something to keep in mind<br />
*Time frame- how long do you plan on staying? If the realistic plan is a short period of time it may not make sense to relocate both of you<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Again, this is just my take on this and my personal experience. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Different strokes for different folks!! </div>
Fabulously Thriftyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11447883386589868335noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230224094369618220.post-72949610440467523112017-10-29T17:14:00.001-07:002017-10-29T17:14:42.294-07:00My Favorite Money App $$$ I have always been pretty good with money. I have an emergency savings account, I have a savings account set up for big purchases and I have very minimal credit card debt (the debt I do have at the moment is mainly wedding related). I do have student loan debt and my mortgage debt, but I feel that is pretty normal. <br />
One area of money management I have never really excelled in is holiday spending. I never really go into debt over buying gifts, but I never purchase the gifts I really want to and end up cutting the corners on a lot of other areas at that time like holiday outings. Then I found my new favorite money app.<br />
Digit is an app that has helped alleviate the stress of finances when it comes to holiday or gift shopping in general for me. I literally haven't bought or given a gift with money from my checking account in over a year!<br />
Digit is an app that attaches to your checking account and tracks your spending. If you are spending less it withdraws money and adds it to the app which is like a savings account. The highest amount I've ever had taken out at one time is around $17. The app takes out amounts in such small increments that you don't even realize that money is missing. It's surprising how quickly this money adds up!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0FOkCEHgcS0ZREG2MXgr4cFMFlYW2X0Z2tS8glE2DjLSTEqAIWhy-Nw45hBhK-qYk28QBuclYcGT9ZWzWOuCt4MQp3ARQY8gEhzcqVKOSUKc4PVu6GYAaW3E5ZOuZXJZDcYWM5qQHCc/s1600/IMG_6410.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1334" data-original-width="750" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0FOkCEHgcS0ZREG2MXgr4cFMFlYW2X0Z2tS8glE2DjLSTEqAIWhy-Nw45hBhK-qYk28QBuclYcGT9ZWzWOuCt4MQp3ARQY8gEhzcqVKOSUKc4PVu6GYAaW3E5ZOuZXJZDcYWM5qQHCc/s320/IMG_6410.PNG" width="179" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
When you are ready to withdraw any amount, you go into the app and type in "withdraw" and the amount and within 1-2 business days the money is back in your checking account. You can even type in what you are withdrawing the money for if you are interested in keeping track!<br />
I also love that with the app I get a text every morning with my checking account balance and what has caused my balance to change from the day before. It helps to keep me on track and notice if there's anything fishy going on.<br />
Now when I joined Digit it was free, however that has since changed. It is free for your first 100 days and $2.99 a month after that. I find that it is totally worth it because it has helped make saving money SO much easier for me!<br />
If you are interested in signing up, please consider using <a href="https://digit.co/r/WJKBrzN_mZ?ab">my link </a>as I can get $5 added to my account! Then you can turn around and share this gold with your friends and use your own personal link! <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you plan on using Digit or a similar app, what are you saving for?? I would love to know and help cheer you on!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
**I am not affiliated with Digit at all- they have no idea who I am! I just love this app and can't wait to begin my holiday shopping this year using it! :)</div>

I was getting so tired of my cable bill continuing to go up when the service stayed exactly the same. I was paying around $130 a month for internet service, home phone (which I never used) and about 50 channels total. This just seemed outlandish to me.<br />
<br />
A few friends of mine and some relatives cut the cord and just used Netflix or a similar service. However, due to the fact that I am a massive sports feign, this did not suit me. I also hate being out of the loop when it comes to my trashy reality tv!<br />
<br />
Playstation Vue became the ideal solution for me. I currently have the "Core" plan which is $45 a month. This includes a large majority of the channels I watch on a regular basis: basic cable channels, USA, Bravo, OWN and my sports networks! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCCeMiwgdppACqK-V1NfMuV831GUeSRj9mU7cZkKFoEb4h2folpqGY93g1Ihk20BPHauckKAT3nImi-r9Pqjl9714c2e24H2eHLhWxpceeAGWcF7BWd2LKvgEZL2iTcloqh_lEkjANVbM/s1600/IMG_6370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCCeMiwgdppACqK-V1NfMuV831GUeSRj9mU7cZkKFoEb4h2folpqGY93g1Ihk20BPHauckKAT3nImi-r9Pqjl9714c2e24H2eHLhWxpceeAGWcF7BWd2LKvgEZL2iTcloqh_lEkjANVbM/s320/IMG_6370.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Unfortunately, my local cable provider is still tremendously expensive when it comes to internet service. I end up only saving between $15-$20 a month by using my cable provider's internet and Playstation Vue. However, I am still saving around $200 a year which is a big bonus! I also find myself not flipping as mindlessly as I used to with cable. If there's nothing legitimately on I will put on a show on demand or watch a Youtube video instead. I truly love Playstation Vue and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for anyway to lower their expenses.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMZo4oGu6IBEmAcnBzUQaFOxUaE11DrHOYRUMKWIIxKwjlspsCDAPiMIBn_MIMFKlSuRD4d3mM_O_Bw6G3kBdXiXFmWjTlGV7RcHVtOsfznVE1p68sv_lMeY0BcpLBvyg8pxIwwocT5NY/s1600/IMG_6371.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMZo4oGu6IBEmAcnBzUQaFOxUaE11DrHOYRUMKWIIxKwjlspsCDAPiMIBn_MIMFKlSuRD4d3mM_O_Bw6G3kBdXiXFmWjTlGV7RcHVtOsfznVE1p68sv_lMeY0BcpLBvyg8pxIwwocT5NY/s320/IMG_6371.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
With that being said, when my fiancee and I move in together we are reconnecting that cord. Why?? Most cable providers, including mine, offer such fantastic deals for the first two years of a contract that a monthly bill comes out to be less than an internet + Vue deal! We will take advantage of the promotional pricing and when it returns to "normal" pricing we will switch back to our Playstation Vue!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Speaking of Playstation Vue, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
would anyone be interested in a tutorial post on how to use the system??</div>

My friend Tanya is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to vitamins and supplements. I got her advice a few months back on which vitamins to add to my non-existent regimen and purchased a cute pill organizer to organize them all for daily consumption. And then I pretty much forgot about them.<br />
I found myself taking them maybe once or twice a week, because I needed to take them with food and I would always forget they were in my work bag! If I was at home, I would completely forget about them until it was too late (am I the only one who can't take vitamins close to bedtime as I get CRAZY dreams??). I spent all this money on vitamins and I they were just hanging out in my cabinet!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaMHn3oOeD3dXB0pYgz67qlX4LruSuAVSgjz7VZGdcLSQUPd6hVido74fUKaCvSA4yY84No2Lhas_WIt_VJOGrYOZamdlqe4LUhEBIUQm8HPwgWlXWYpuGuPskq2h8u3IH_XN-DT7P0us/s1600/IMG_6349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaMHn3oOeD3dXB0pYgz67qlX4LruSuAVSgjz7VZGdcLSQUPd6hVido74fUKaCvSA4yY84No2Lhas_WIt_VJOGrYOZamdlqe4LUhEBIUQm8HPwgWlXWYpuGuPskq2h8u3IH_XN-DT7P0us/s320/IMG_6349.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Finally, I found the perfect solution for me. I packed my vitamins in my lunch bag! Now, every time I take out my lunch at work my vitamins are right there and I take them ASAP. Finally, my vitamin routine is on point!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do you have a vitamin regimen? </div>

My first official blog series! The Playing House Series will be all about making the decision to move in with your significant other. This series will cover all of the steps leading up to moving in together and the actual process of moving in together. <br />
This is just my personal take on this situation! I am not a life coach or therapist or anything like that so this is just my personal advice and my personal experiences with this. Just wanted to post that disclaimer!<br />
The first post in this series is all about the most important step and that's making the decision to move in together!<br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: xx-small;">Image from equityapartments.com</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Why are you making the decision to move in together? </b>Is it because you are in a serious committed relationship and you've talked about the direction the relationship is going in? You're both on the same page? Excellent! If you are in a committed relationship and haven't discussed future plans, I feel that's an important step prior to moving in. You want to make sure you have common goals for your relationship.</li>
<li><b>Is it just a financial decision?</b> Moving in together can be a great way to save some cash and lighten a financial burden. However, if it's the main reason why you are moving in with a significant other it can lead to some other, non-financial problems later on. Don't try to force a puzzle piece that doesn't fit simply to save some cash.</li>
<li><b>Is moving in together going to help or hurt your relationship?</b> I will be the first to admit that I am needy mofo. I spent so much time alone as a child that I crave time with loved ones now (don't get me wrong, I still need my me-time!). However, there are plenty of people who love being in a relationship, but still need to retain some of their independence. If moving in together will make you uncomfortable it will undoubtedly lead to some problems in the relationship department. Make sure that any decision you make, whether living apart or together will benefit and not harm your relationship.</li>
<li><b>Don't worry what others think</b> There is no timeline for a perfect relationship. I don't think rushing into anything is wise, but everyone's definition of "rushing" is something different. As long as you and your partner have thought and spoke things out, and you are making a decision based on love and common goals for the future, I say go for it! </li>

I used to think the positive mindset, manifestation, Secret stuff was a lot of hooey! However, lately I have begun to look more into it and have really felt positive changes in my life due to a more positive mindset. I find myself being in a bit more control of my anxiety due to my new mindset.<br />
<br />
One way I start a positive mindset as soon as I wake up, is by labeling my alarm. I use the alarm on my iphone and it allows me to label the alarms- mainly to be used if you are using the alarms for different purposes. However, I label my morning alarm with an inspirational quote or message. This month I am labeling my alarm with 3 words that I want to focus on for my life and for my mindset. <br />
I labeled my alarm "relaxed, happy, balanced". These are all traits that I want to work on and exude in my life and my person. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe-TB0GDumpqSwnRtx54xdsbmy2NACZ1wCUz622HkTSDmekzQrxShPXERMzU7vrCLlvM5SyN7WUgV_NPpJ65yjBDrDTvJA9MhLn49GFpNEjnyb8i1s_PCNM2ibvQk_jnJTIxiZWYm2E-s/s1600/IMG_6297.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1334" data-original-width="750" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe-TB0GDumpqSwnRtx54xdsbmy2NACZ1wCUz622HkTSDmekzQrxShPXERMzU7vrCLlvM5SyN7WUgV_NPpJ65yjBDrDTvJA9MhLn49GFpNEjnyb8i1s_PCNM2ibvQk_jnJTIxiZWYm2E-s/s320/IMG_6297.PNG" width="179" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am still not a morning person by ANY means, but this little trick helps me to remember my positive mindset from the second I turn off the alarm.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What would you put as your alarm message??</div>

I was raised watching college football every Saturday and the NFL every Sunday. Nowadays, my weekend plans are made around the time the Penn State game is on and my friends pretty much know that fall Saturdays means I am unavailable. <br />
Watching sports can be a great way to bond with someone or strike up a conversation. Penn State games continue to be a way that I bond with my entire family, especially my parents. I remember watching football games with my Grandpa and Dad when I was little and getting so excited when I was able to identify a player or make a call. On top of that, if you're with someone who spends their Sundays engulfed in fantasy football, it might make it a little less dreadful to know a little bit of what is going on.<br />

<br />
Here is my little crash course on football and HOW to watch football with someone!<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Don't root against your significant others team to be cutesy. If you genuinely like the team, cheer your heart out, but if you could care less just cheer for your boo's team. As a female who gets super passionate about her teams, I can only imagine how crazy some guys can get.</li>
<li>Try to get to a game. When you go to a game you can totally feel the amazing energy and perhaps get a better understanding of why your significant other is so passionate about it.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSKdyDkLO2LXYU81U1zlo6X3dEF2NujCrhsp9bCx9KcJyWPP8PRvcFlSFgl2yUhjAeJeSEu2uOPdW5rvcYg8kc0Rd-fQjcCewW4CbPOn1QZHwqWJfAclvXLUkmc_87d3djUKi3wtRVnzQ/s1600/95341735-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="408" data-original-width="612" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSKdyDkLO2LXYU81U1zlo6X3dEF2NujCrhsp9bCx9KcJyWPP8PRvcFlSFgl2yUhjAeJeSEu2uOPdW5rvcYg8kc0Rd-fQjcCewW4CbPOn1QZHwqWJfAclvXLUkmc_87d3djUKi3wtRVnzQ/s320/95341735-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The SUPER basics of football:</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div>
<ul>
<li>The team with the ball at the moment is called the offense, the team without the ball, trying to stop them, is the defense.</li>
<li>A touchdown, where someone runs into or catches the ball in the endzone (the part of the field with no numbers on it and the team's name or logo) is worth 6 points. The team is automatically given a a try to kick an extra point which makes it 7 points total.</li>
<li>A field goal, where someone kicks the ball through the uprights (the giant plastic U thing), is worth 3 points.</li>
<li>The goal of the offense is to get a first down, which is to gain 10 yards. (A football field is 100 yards) The offense has 4 tries to get 10 yards. However, most times you will only see a team try 3 times because if they do not get it on the 4th try they automatically give the ball to the defense.</li>
<li>If a team does not get a first down, they have to punt the ball to the other team. A punt is a fancy word for a kick.</li>
<li>There could be a turnover. A turnover can be an interception or a fumble. An interception is when the quarterback (person who throws the ball) throws the ball and someone from the defense catches it. A fumble is when someone on the offense who has the ball either drops it or has it taken from them by someone on the defense. </li>
<li>There are 4 quarters in a game which are each 15 minutes and a half time which is also around 15 minutes. However, NO game is ever just an hour and 15 minutes. Between commercial breaks and penalties and timeouts expect to carve out a good 3 hours to watch a game.</li>
<li>Try to enjoy! Even though you may went to yell at someone "IT'S JUST A GAME!!" when they get mad or upset while watching a game (and it totally is) some people are incredibly passionate about their sports and have spent years invested in a team. Let them be upset after a tough loss for the remainder of the day. If they are still being sore losers after that though, it's time for some tough love!!</li>
</ul>

I completely thrive within my morning and evening routines. If any aspect of my routine is thrown off, it can sometimes throw off my day (I am working on that!). <br />
A huge part of my morning routine used to be watching my favorite morning news show while getting ready for work. Then my favorite anchor was fired after I spent almost every morning for 11 years with her! How could they do this to me?? This threw me off and led to me looking into other options for my morning routine. I tried a few other morning news shows, but nothing worked.<br />
I follow this lovely "Girlboss" Youtuber called Erin Henry. In her Facebook group girls were talking about their morning routine and several people commented on how horrible watching the news was to start your day. I never really thought about it. While I loved my favorite anchor and felt a connection with her, she did deliver me a lot of bad news every day and this was how I was CHOOSING to start my day. <br />
I decided I needed to revamp this part of my morning routine and add in something that would help me start my day in a more positive way. This led to my rediscovery of <b>podcasts</b>!<br />
I now start every day by listening to a positive podcast while getting ready for work and I truly feel it has led to me having better days. It puts me in such a positive space that my mind is slowly beginning to learn to respond to situations in a much more calm way. I wanted to share some of my favorites with you in hopes that you will give them a try and allow them to become part of your daily routine in some way!<br />

The Chalene Show was one of the first podcasts I subscribed to and is definitely one of my favorites. Although she doesn't post as regularly as some of the other girls I am going to mention, she has a large bank of episodes for you to choose from already. Her topics range from health, weight loss, organization, balance, etc. She is a fitness guru for Beachbody and while I have never done her workout program, I love listening and learning from her and her husband. She is very uplifting and uses tough love when necessary. She provides tips and tricks that are tangible, especially in the health and weight loss department.</div>

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7bhPAhcFhX2_o4tIiL7HyA">Erin May Henry</a> on Youtube recommended this podcast in a video and I am so glad she did. The host, Courtney, interviews a lot of guests to provide information on a lot of topics that may be deemed "new age" but I just find fascinating. I have learned a lot about crystals and manifesting and using my mind as a tool to fight my anxieties. This is probably my favorite podcast of the ones I mentioned and definitely helps to change my morning mindset!</div>

<br />Fabulously Thriftyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11447883386589868335noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8230224094369618220.post-47865159169331638002017-10-10T17:20:00.000-07:002017-10-10T17:20:06.094-07:00Match.com- Does It Work? I've heard ( and even met a few people) who were embarrassed to admit that they had met their significant others on Match.com. Well, I am here to say proudly that I met my fiancee on Match and I'm grateful for it, because otherwise I most likely would've never crossed paths with him!<br />
<br />
The way I met my fiancee on Match is not the norm. I signed up after the urging of a co-worker to get off all of the free sites. Nick was the first and only guy I met and it was an instant spark. It sounds like a fairytale and don't get me wrong, it totally was (and still is) but it wasn't THAT easy.<br />
<br />
I had been on Match previously a few years before with zero luck. The most successful date I had via Match that round (I was on it once previously as well) was with a guy who proceeded to tell me on our first date that he wanted to be dominated. Not like whips and chains, but like treated like a "house boy" (his words, not mine) and given chores and demoralized. UMMM BYE! <br />
<br />
In my mind using a dating website like Match (like real dating) is all about timing. If you aren't on the site or a member of the site at right moment you are going to meet the same weirdos that you would on a free dating site or in a bar. However, there is a way to help navigate through some of it and this applies to all dating websites (not apps) not just Match.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">Picture from Reddit.com</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Be honest with your pictures! </b>The point of a dating website is to actually meet someone in person right? Eventually they are going to find out that you are 5 years older or 15 pounds heavier, so be honest with your pictures. You would be disappointed if you were talking to someone who you thought looked like a clean cut gentleman and showed up with a full beard and a ripped freebie t-shirt.</li>
<li> <b>Be honest with your description</b> If you're not into sports, don't say you are or you may be going to a sports bar for a first date. Don't say you spend your weekends doing charity work if you don't. Be honest here. We all want to show our best selves, but theres a fine line between showcasing our best features and selves and being bullshitters.</li>
<li><b>Look outside your normal geographic area</b> My fiancee lives in New York City and I live in the suburbs. If I limited my search to my immediate area, I would have completely missed out!!! Set your search limits a bit outside of your normal comfort zone. However, don't set your search too far if you aren't willing to regularly travel some distance if you meet someone great.</li>
<li><b>It's ok for a female to initiate conversation</b> The notion that a female should wait for a male to initiate is kind of outdated in my mind. I "winked" at my fiancee first on Match and that opened up the way for conversation. If you aren't confident enough to fire off a message right off the bat, try the wink option at first.</li>
<li><b>Start a conversation based on their profile/picture</b> If you are going to initiate a conversation, try to do so based on a question to do with their profile or a picture. Ask about a trip they posted about or a quote. It shows that you actually read their profile instead of just generically messaging them.</li>
<li><b>Set a time limit for chatting/texting</b> My friend Bernie had a great rule- if after a week of talking they haven't set a date it's time to go. For some reason there seems to be this new breed of people who are content with just having someone to text. If that's not what you're looking for, set a time limit for communicating with someone. If there's no solid plans to meet them within that time limit, it's time for them to go.</li>
<li><b>Take it all with a grain of salt</b> Dating, whether online or "regular", is just not normal nowadays. There's a lot of dishonest people out there and a lot of game players as well. Chances are you will get "ghosted" on, chances are, you will see a profile of someone who you think is perfect and they won't respond to your message and you may have to kiss a lot of frogs. But try to remember, don't settle for anything less than butterflies and what you deserve. </li>
</ul>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Who am I?</b></div>
<br />
Hello all and welcome to Adulting 101 for the Grown! I'm so happy you decided to pop on over to my little area of the web and I hope you'll stay for a while.<br />
<br />
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Melissa and I'm a 32 year old woman who still calls her dad to kill bugs and asks her mom how long chicken is good for in the fridge. I haven't exactly mastered adulting yet. Despite my occasional lack of adulting, I have been a special education teacher outside of New York City for 4 years now and actually got engaged to the man of my dreams this past July. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I am a sports feign and the passion for my teams rivals that of Jimmy Fallon's in Fever Pitch (ok not that bad). To balance out tomboyish I am also a makeup addict, so much that I sell makeup as my side hustle. I love most trashy reality tv, and I must be honest, really haven't found a balance for that yet.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>What To Expect..</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So what the hell is this blog about? It's going to be pretty random! I am going to share a lot of personal stories, tips, tricks, advice, etc. about adulting situations that come up in my life! I'm in the process of:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li> selling my co-op</li>
<li> moving in with my fiancee</li>
<li>planning a wedding</li>
<li>finding a work/life balance</li>
<li>tackling my anxiety</li>
<li>finding my spirituality</li>
<li>finding my personal style (I'm 32, I should know what my favorite store is!)</li>
<li>HOW TO BE A GROWN UP</li>
</ul>
<div>
If any of these topics sound relevant to you, I invite you to stick around! I'm hoping you'll learn something, but if nothing else, I promise you'll be entertained!<br />
